Welcome to our Year 1 virtual page. Year 1 are currently learning in school – please keep an eye on what they are doing by following our Twitter account!  Attached below is a timetable to show what they will be doing so that you can follow them at home.  If you are still learning from home, we look forward to seeing what you are doing on SeeSaw!

Year 1 Home Learning Overview – 13th July 2020

Stay happy, stay safe & happy learning!

Miss Farrer & Mrs Ward

Set three phonics lesson 10:30am and spelling session at 10:45am.
We as a school follow Read Write Inc and conduct lessons in this way therefore will be normal for your children to follow.

Action Words
Keep working through your work pack. You may want to act out your action words, testing their knowledge, we have created sentences using all action words. Can you have a go? Upload any videos of your action word work on Seesaw for me to see.

Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPAG)
Work on the common exception words which are in your home learning folder and write out sentences for them to correct such as full stops, capital letters, exclamation marks and question marks. Carry on with the activities that were in the pack last week.

Could you make a poster about all the things you have loved doing this year? It has to include three sections of writing one bit about dungeons and dragons, what does it mean to belong? And then the final paragraph on your home learning for incredible creatures! You can then draw lots of pictures or add photos to all your memories.

White Rose Maths
The work sheets for the maths are things we have covered in class previously.

Diamond Dash
Attached to the website is a number of their sheets, practise once a week timed (5 minutes) and see if they have passed!

Times Table Rockstars
Please make sure your child has the opportunity to access Times Table Rockstars.

Hit the button- website not app
This is great for speedy adding, doubling and times tables.

This Week

There is still an expectation that children will read daily and have a signed signature in their diary. This is a great opportunity to read some great books – us adults certainly will be!
Reading Challenge: send a photo of you reading in interesting or favourite places!
