Weekly email communication – Thursday 22nd September 2016

Dear Parents/ Carers

We have had another great week at JCA! I cannot believe how fast this term is going already, but equally I am so pleased with the way in which our children continue to show us excellent attitudes to learning and are so motivated.

Visit from our Challenge Partner

Today has been really busy as we had a special visit from one of our challenge partners, an Executive Headteacher from some high performing London schools, whom we work very closely with. You would have been very proud of the comments that were made about our school. Mr Carpenter observed fantastic attitudes from our children and commented on their mature and positive attitude towards learning. He was also so impressed by the way in which our children are so independent across the whole school. He commented on our school as being “excellent” with a “stimulating learning environment that really supports and extends learning”. This affirms the journey we are going on. However, we never rest and are constantly ‘striving to be the best that we can be’, with the support of all of you.

INSET day tomorrow

As you all know, we are not in school tomorrow due to INSET training. All of the teachers are completing this on ‘Creative Teaching’ so that we can continue to develop our creative curriculum. We are carrying out this training with all of our Outwood Together schools.

Letter attached – Year 1 & 2 School Trip to Abbey House Museum

Please see the attached letter for a Year 1 & 2 trip. Please note that return slips will be given out on Monday. The letter is for your information. In the future we will be starting electronic sign in.

Community notice: Wrenthorpe Environmental Society Litter Pick on Saturday 24th September

There will be a big litter pick at Wrenthorpe Park on Saturday at 10am and everyone is welcome to attend. Jo Orrell has advised to wear gloves and suitable footwear. Children are very welcome.

PTA-Would you like to be part of a fantastic organisation that supports the school?

We had an excellent meeting with the PTA this week. They are planning so many activities for this term, including a Macmillan coffee Morning, school disco and special Christmas treat for our youngest learners. More information to come out soon about all of this. If any of you are interested in joining the PTA, they would really welcome your support. Please contact the Chair of the PTA- Becky France on becky.france@ymail.com

Have a great, long weekend.
