Friday 9th September Email to Parents:

Good afternoon all

What a fantastic first week we have had back for the 2016-17 academic year. The children have come back to school absolutely fantastically. I know I say every year, but I think the way in which they have come back is getting better every year!

It was great to see many of you at the ‘Meet the Teacher’ presentations yesterday. I do acknowledge that it was a difficult time for some of you to get to the academy, so therefore, please follow the link (or paste into your menu bar) to see the presentations. There is core information within them about the year ahead.

Year 1 or 2

Year 3 or 4

Year 5 or 6

From now on the academy will be sending out all communication on a Friday (wherever possible). So please look out for your weekly email. This includes all trip letters, newsletters and general information letters from Class Teachers. Newsletters will be attached bi-weekly.

Although this is not specifically a newsletter, I wanted to make you aware of a few important aspects:

Mrs Fitton– It is with great sadness to inform you all that Mrs Fitton will not be in school for some time. Over the summer, Mrs Fitton was diagnosed with Cancer. The prognosis is extremely positive and she will be going through an operation within the next week. Mrs Fitton will be back to school once she is fit and healthy again. We are all sending our positive thoughts to her at this incredibly hard time. She wanted you all to know in order to be aware.

Attendance – Please can I remind you all of our quest for continued excellent attendance across the academy. We are aiming for 97.4% for attendance overall this year. Please help us to achieve this.

Medication – Please could I remind you all that if your child requires medication in school that this must be prescribed by a doctor. You will need to sign consent with instructions for administering the medication at the office. Medication must not be left in book bags or handed over to the Class Teacher.

Weather- Surprisingly the weather is forecast to be hot next week! Please could I ask that children are provided with a sun hat and sun cream which should be applied before they come to school. Tuesday is forecast to be very hot. We will wait and see!
